Sell-out show brings the house down

Our most recent charity concert produced a record attendance. Indeed, such was the demand that we were forced (for the first time) to operate a “wait list”!

The 70-strong audience were duly treated to a wonderful performance from the talented father-and-son duo ‘Cartwright’.

Roger and Max were right at the top of their game with guitar-playing of the highest standard and great vocals.
Classic songs from legends like the Beatles, Elton John. Pink Floyd, Rod Stewart and Glen Campbell were performed with consummate professionalism.

No backing tracks … just a brilliantly played live set from two outstanding musicians.

The ovation was richly deserved, the duo more than justifying their return to our “Ballam Arena”, after a three-year absence.

We had a number of new faces in attendance including a group from St Thomas Church in St Annes who collectively described their experience as “superb”, immediately asking to be notified of all upcoming live music events!

Thanks to the high ticket sales, a well-supported raffle and a £100 sponsorship donation we managed to record a profit of over £600.

As always, some of that money will go to various charities (thanks to those who made suggestions on the night), both local and further afield.

We have previously supported Lytham/St Annes RNLI, Kirkham Youth Theatre, Fylde Foodbank, Pear Tree School among many others we will also look to invest in further improvements at the church.

Sincere thanks to everyone who came along and all who contributed in any way to the smooth running before, during and after the show.

We seem to have developed a popular concept and effective template and the only advice for future shows … in the phrase made famous by Fred Pontin – book early!
