Two summers back, we sadly lost one of our most loyal and popular parishioners, Frank Howard.
Frank was a real character – a lover of life, people, music, bowling and football – and someone who also had a great affinity for St Matthew.
To prove the point – not that any proof is required – there is some heart-warming news to share.
Our treasurer (Jean Pemberton) recently received a surprise piece of correspondence from the law firm dealing with his estate.
It outlined that Frank had included our church in his Will; a gesture so typical of the man.
The amount stands at just short of £3,000 and it is fair to say that we are all very touched by it.
