Shanty Crew return date announced

Live music is ready to resume at St Matthew’s – exactly where it left off close on two years ago!

Back in January 2020, we hosted a sell-out charity concert by the famous Lytham St Annes Shanty Crew.

And the ever-popular ‘Crew’ are returning for another evening of seafaring songs and good humour on Friday December 3rd (7.30pm).

It is very appropriate given that the band’s first appearance in Ballam was due to herald the dawn of regular entertainment at our church.

The global pandemic obviously put matters on hold, but we now feel able to resume – obviously operating within all the necessary guidelines.

Tickets for the December concert will again be priced at £10 (including light refreshments), with proceeds to be split between the church and the Lytham St Annes Lifeboat.

Roy Turner, a member of both the LSA Shanty Crew and LSA Lifeboat, said: “It will be great to go back to St Matthew’s. We received such a warm welcome last time and the atmosphere on the night was fantastic. We are all very much looking forward to playing there again.”

Tickets are available from Paul Agnew (07973313332) or Jean Pemberton (01253 795033). Capacity will be limited to around 50, so the best advice is to book early.
