All Things Bright and Beautiful

The church looks fabulous following stage two of our re-decorating project.

As every householder knows only too well, keeping up appearances with property is a time-consuming and costly business.

The upkeep of a church is no different.

Therefore, we are delighted to announce that the final stage of our internal re-decoration has been completed.

Last year we carried out ‘part one’ and, although we opted to maintain the original colour scheme, the re-fresh work really lifted the look of the church to generate some lovely comments from regular parishioners and visitors.

We are particularly indebted to significant financial support from the Community Foundation for Lancashire, who very kindly contributed a grant of £6,944 towards the overall cost.

“We were made aware of the Foundation through one of our Trustees,” said Angela Laycock, treasurer of Trustees. “We decided there was nothing to be lost in submitting an application.

“We provided a set of accounts along with a detailed plan of what we had in mind and then we received a letter to say that our application had been successful.

“The grant money has not only helped with the decoration but also with some much-needed pointing on exterior walls. We cannot thank the Community Foundation for Lancashire enough.”
